Thing 1:

Seven and 1/2 Habits for Successful Learners-
While reading/viewing the seven and a half  habits, a few of them jumped right out as those that I do often, while some remained distant, with my mind instantly realizing that I don't do those as often, if at all...
One in particular that I do often and therefore is the easiest (by default) for me to do is "Use technology to your advantage".  I'm a technology fanatic! I've had technology in my life since I was a kid and it's amazing the things you can learn from a machine. To this day I use technology to study, for music, to  read, research, and to entertain.

However, one that I struggle with as a learner is "View problems as challenges". I simply don't do this. I see problems as problems. It seems like more of a challenge to see problems as challenges.  A problem to me is something to organize, alot time for, and fix, more like a chore rather than a challenge.

Creating this blog in general was not difficult. I've created and used blogs on numerous occasions before. With this blog I hope to learn several new things, as well as  sharing with others.

  1. It sounds to me like you are on the right track to viewing problems as challenges because you view seeing problems as challenges as a challenge. It's all in how you define the words as to what context you feel them in. For example, I see challenges as a way to prove myself to myself and to others all while making it seem fun and easy. Many others feel like you, though, and see it the other way around. It's good thought that you were able to reflect on this topic and find an area in which to strengthen yourself. Kudos to you, I say! It's just as important to know your weaknesses as well as or better than your strengths.

  2. I see what you mean about problems and challenges. I can understand what you mean by it. However, I see problems almost like puzzles. A good example would be of a math 'problem.' You would need to think the problem through and work it out before obtaining the answer. To me, this is also what I would think about when contemplating a challenge. I would think through what I would need to do to solve the challenge and then I would attempt to solve it, just like a math 'problem.' I hope that made sense!
